9 CSOs SUE PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO OVER FORCED LEAVE ON AUDITOR GENERAL
Nine Civil Society groups have jointly taken President Akufo-Addo on in the Supreme Court over his Executive Decision to direct the Auditor-General Daniel Yao Domelevo to proceed on a 167-day accumulated leave.
The groups include the Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana), Ghana Integrity Initiative, (GII), Citizen Movement Ghana, Africa Center for Energy Policy (ACEP), and Parliamentary Network Africa.
The rest are Penplusbyte, Media Foundation for West Africa, SEND Ghana, and One Ghana Movement. This action follows an earlier appeal they made to President Akufo-Addo in July to rescind the decision.
In a statement announcing the writ filed at the Supreme Court yesterday, the Coalition of CSOs says it was left with no option but to go to Court. Here are excerpts of the statement.
