ENSURING PEACEFUL ELECTIONS: EXHIBIT PROFESSIONALISM IN YOUR FIELD- GJA PREZ URGES
President of the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) Mr. Roland Affail Monney has advised journalists to exhibit professionalism in their reportage before, during and after the elections to ensure a violent free electoral process.
Mr Affail Monney speaking on Angel TV expressed that, journalists during elections play a major role as they desserminate information of importance to the general public hence, the advise and caution to them to be positive and extra sensitive to enhance peace and unity.
He added that, he is aware journalists across the country have their political affiliates to which they belong to but would caution that, election period does not permit journalists to exhibit their political affiliates as far as codes and conducts in the profession is concerned thus, the advise to the entire media space to be professional by standing their authority in the delivering of their mandates during and after the elections.
"The polls ahead of us is time for professionalism, an act of taking charge and adding of social value to ourselves as journalists across the coutry and so we must be positive and professional" he stressed.
